As many people who have had the experience will tell you, there are simply not many things that are more relaxing than a spa. In this stress-filled world, sometimes a person really needs to relax for them to be able to handle the day that’s ahead of them. With things like work, school, and other activities, they can sometimes seem as if they are a little too much for us to handle. Unfortunately, especially with current economic climates, not everyone has the luxury of going to the spa for the weekend.
Luckily, there is the opportunity of creating the spa experience at the spa place. This is a cost-effective solution for those who want to reduce some stress and also feel the added comfort of kicking back at spa place! There are a few things that a person will need to create this experience, and they’re pretty cheap, so one would not have to spend much to make their spa comparable to the expensive romps.
Equipment Firstly, you’re going to obviously want to acquire the items that you need to create this magical experience. The typical spa revolves around the body, facials, and hair, so make sure that you keep these things in mind while you’re running to the store. Although there are many items that the spa uses, here are a few basics:
- Anti-oxidant toners, cleansers, and moisturizers - Your favorite loofah - Bath Brush (preferably the ones with the long handles) - Bath Salts - Spring Water (preferably with lemon) - Essential Oils
Usage All of these things play a vital role in creating your spa experience at spa place, as these are the basic things (more or less) that they use in the traditional spa. The key to really making this magic is to use the body scrubs to remove all of the toxins from the body, while stimulating the skin. Use the essential oils in the spring water for the best effect, and make sure to gently, yet thoroughly, cleanse the body with the loofah. The bath salts can also be added to the solution for the cooling effect.
Facial Rejuvenation This is probably one of the biggest things in the spa, as everyone wants to leave the spa with that radiant glow, which are essentially the same reasons why celebrities stay a week at the professional spas. One of the noteworthy things to stay here is that everyone should remember that the skin on the face is some of the most delicate on the body. It is advisable that a person does not use any harsh soaps or cleansing agents here, and be sure to be gentle!
The Spa Treatment Using these ingredients to make a spa treatment at spa place is something that more and more people are finding to be a really good alternative than shelling out a lot of money. The person who tries this will be someone who feels relaxed and ready to take on the next day, almost with a new lease on life!

Whether it is engaging in household cleaning chores using detergents and chemical cleaning agents,, washing the dishes, working in the garden, or other tasks that require using our hands, the skin tends to get rough and damaged. Just like the rest of the skin on your body, the hands need care too. There are a variety of methods one can utilize in order to maintain soft and healthy hands.
1. If you spend a lot of time outdoors, you need to protect your hands from harmful UV rays. Increased sun exposure speeds up skin aging on the hands, which can cause wrinkling and brown spots. Brown spots are high concentrations of melanin produced by too much sun exposure. Using a sunscreen with a high SPF factor, will protect the skin from sun damage. Many hand creams have built in sunscreen.
2. When using chemical and detergent cleaners, wear a pair of latex gloves or rubber so that you do not get any of the cleaner on your hands. Apply a thin layer of moisturizer before on your hands before you put the gloves on.
3. Hand cream helps maintain the skins elasticity ensuring smooth and soft skin. There are many benefits to using hand creams such as reducing the signs of aging, healing raw, irritated, and damaged skin, and providing much needed vitamin and mineral nourishment. These creams or gels will help avoid dry and cracked skin. Choosing the right hand cream depends on personal skin needs. For instance, if you have sensitive skin, you will need a hand cream designed for those who have sensitive skin.
4. When you wash your hands, use natural soap. After you have thoroughly rinsed off the soap, apply a hand cream that contains a moisturizer. You should also do this before you go to bed so that the moisturizer works throughout the night. A natural soap such as oatmeal or clay based soap is a good choice as they do not contain any chemical additives or petroleum products. Once or twice a week, wash your hands with a gentle glycerin or Castile soap and exfoliate. There are also a number of hand exfoliates on the market that exfoliates, purifies, moisturizes, and smoothes the skin on the hands.
5. If you begin a hand care routine because your hands are raw and irritated, it is important to continue you care after the skin has healed. This will help prevent any future skin irritations.
6. Drink plenty of water and include fresh fruits and vegetables in your regular diet, which can help you to achieve healthy and soft skin.
The skin is the bodys protective layer so it is important to care for it. During the summer months, every part of the skin needs care, including our hands. Our hands are always on display for everyone to see, and even touch as when we shake hands Dry, chapped, and irritated skin, is not only unappealing, but a serious discomfort. It can even lead to skin infections. Hands that undergo daily care are able to withstand harsh elements thereby ensuring soft, smooth, and healthy skin. Hand care should be an important part of your skin care routine.

As you near your 40s, you are going to start noticing wrinkles on your face. Even if you have been as careful as possible with your skin, using only the best organic products, this is the time when wrinkles normally appear. The good news about wrinkles is that you can limit their appearance with the right products and skin care tactics.
What Causes Wrinkles
As we age, the cells in our epidermis, or the top skin layer, become thin. They also begin to let more moisture escape from the skin, leading to dryness, which can cause wrinkles. The dermis, or second layer, also thins. As it does, it produces less collagen, a material that keeps the skin elastic. This causes the skin to sag and wrinkle. The bottom layer of the skin also contributes to wrinkles. This layer is made up of fat cells, and these fat cells get smaller as we age. Normally, these fat cells will fill in any damage in the other skin layers, but when they begin to shrink, they cannot do this, so wrinkles become even more noticeable.
Two Types of Wrinkles
There are two main types of wrinkles on your skin. Some are produced by the movement of the skin, while others are present even when the skin is resting. The wrinkles that occur when the skin is at rest are the ones that can be fought.
Fighting the Sun
The sun is one of your worst enemies as you work to fight wrinkles. The “crow’s feet” that many people develop around their eyes are a direct result of overexposure to sun, and these can be minimized with proper sun protection. Apply sunscreen to your face, getting as close to the eye as is safe, and wear sunglasses to prevent squinting. Wear sunscreen daily on all exposed skin, whether or not the weather is warm. Remember, the sun can damage your skin when it is below the freezing point just as easily as it can when you are spending a warm day on the beach.
Keep Moisturized
Many wrinkles are caused by dry skin, and skin gets drier as we age. To help fight these wrinkles, always apply a moisturizer after cleansing your skin. Use organic moisturizers with wrinkle-fighting ingredients to maximize your results.
Add Alpha Hydroxy Acids to Your Life
Alpha Hydroxy Acids, or AHAs, are one of the most popular organic skin care products used to fight wrinkles. These acids, which come from sugar cane, acidic fruits, and sour milk, all of which are organic, natural ingredients, are believed to reduce fine lines that are present when the skin is at rest. Many products Jurlique containing AHAs are available that can be used to exfoliate and moisturize the skin. They work by removing much of the dead skin cell and oil build up in these fine lines, and they also are believed to thicken the skin by increasing the substances found in the dermis.
Overall Healthy Living Fights Wrinkles
Believe it or not, your exercise routine and diet have a direct effect on the wrinkles you will have as you get older. When you exercise, your body takes in more oxygen and releases more toxins. Exercise also increase circulation, which makes your skin much more healthy.
Additionally, the food that you eat contributes to your overall health. Increasing your intake of fresh fruits and vegetables, particularly those that are high in vitamin C, can help postpone the appearance of wrinkles. Taking a supplement that has other antioxidants like vitamins A, B, and E will also help fight wrinkles. Avoid too much refined sugar, because it attacks collagen and leads to more wrinkles. Also, avoid an over consumption of alcohol, as this can cause your face to swell, stretching the skin. This will cause wrinkles when the skin returns to normal.
Wrinkles may be a natural part of the aging process, but as you enter your 40s, you do not have to give up the fight altogether. With quality organic products, a healthy lifestyle, and good sun protection, you can keep your youthful skin looking youthful for several more years.

You can feel pampered and cared for even if you feel you’re the only one doing the caring right now, by soaking in a ritually prepared tub.
Add pure essential oils to 1/4 cup of pure honey or 1/4 to 1/3rd. cup of dried milk powder. Essential oils are little packets of energy and information, some of which can help to ease the mental and emotional issues that go along with weight problems or help on a physiological basis. Choose the oils that best suit your needs. Essential oils are your potent allies to help you regain personal power.
Make into a paste and then add this spoonful by spoonful to your tub just as it is finished running, with the water not too hot and leaving enough room to top up if necessary. Sploosh your mixture about in the water until it dissolves. It will make the water cloudy but then who’s taking pictures?
Hang a ‘do not disturb’ sign on the doorknob and lock the bathroom door. Turn off the phone. Put on some of your favorite tunes to soothe your fevered brow, as the mood strikes you.
Place a few candles around the tub, taking care not to set anything alight.
Place something soft behind your head and either read your favorite author or just contemplate your navel for at least 20 - 30 minutes. Do not fall asleep, especially if you are small and your tub is large.
Finish with a tea tree oil shampoo and you’re good to go.
Tea Tree Oil Shampoo is a natural, rich natural formula containing tea tree oil combined with gentle, tearless, frequent use shampoo. And, with tea tree oil shampoo your hair gets an added lift from the synergistic action of tea tree oil along with other oils and herbs, all working together to provide maximum benefits to your hair, skin and scalp.
Apply shampoo liberally to hair, lather and gently massage scalp with fingertips for at least a minute or two, or more. The shampoo removes unwanted build-up from hair left by other shampoos. This unique hair repair complex will let you see your hair shine with restored health and beauty. And organic oils help to remove excess oil and build-up so that hair is clean and manageable.
Carry out this ritual at least twice per week and you’ll never look at your tub in the same way ever again.

Spring?s seeds are finally turning into the fruits of summer! We?ve already worked our way through some of the leafy greens, such as chard, mustard and butter lettuce. Now we?re waiting on our heirloom tomatoes and carrots. Since last year?s blueberry success, you?re confident in this year?s prize of the garden: juicy peaches. Regardless of what specialties you?re nurturing this year, the long months of summer make us pause in gratitude for what the earth offers us each growing season.
For much of the year, our produce is trucked in from distant farmlands. Once summer arrives, though, everyone gets the chance to claim their birthright as gardeners and cultivators of their own food. What?s best, local summer harvests allow us to experiment with simple, nutritious meals. With very little effort, a meal of fresh vegetables and summer fruits can become a lavish feast. And if your simple cuisine asks for a hint of the exotic, you can harvest a bouquet of flavors from the most unlikely of places: your aromatherapy medicine chest.
When buying aromatic oils, you should always strive to use medicinal-grade oils. These oils come from huge amounts of plant material, so it’s wise to use high-quality oils from reliable sources. Of course we already consider this when we buy aromatherapy products for use on the skin. However, committing to therapeutic-grade oils has a secret plus: you can use these oils in food as well. If you’ve never seen your aromatherapy collection this way, just remember that smell has more control over our sense of flavor than even our taste buds! Keeping that little fact in focus, here are some hassle-free ways to use essential oils in your summer cuisine.
First and foremost, let’s address the issue of food safety. Essential oils are, obviously, plant-derived substances. While you may not want to eat a hunk of frankincense resin straight from the tree, frankincense is still a naturally occurring substance. It is not poisonous in small quantities, but it may make you want to brush your teeth immediately. Many essential oils are expressly dangerous for internal consumption, such as wintergreen and birch, but other oils can be used in small quantities for internal health as well as for cooking. In fact, the FDA has qualified many of the common essential oils as GRAS, Generally Recognized as Safe, substances. This means that, although they are not categorized as food additives, they can be consumed without apparent side-effects. When considering which oils to cook with, this is a good rule of thumb: essential oils of citruses, spices and other commonly-eaten foods are probably going to make excellent additions to your cuisine. Just be cautious when using essential oils that are known to irritate mucous membranes, such as cinnamon, oregano and peppermint.
How can essential oils improve your summer harvest? Let’s first consider one of the gifts of the Mediterranean region: the citruses. Oils like grapefruit and lemon blend beautifully with olive oil for simple, tangy dressings. All it takes is one drop of oil per tablespoon of oil, and your salad will be transformed. Love guacamole? Try a few drops of lime oil mixed with ripe avocado and serve it with corn chips or jicama slices. Still munching on this spring’s spinach? Mandarin orange essential oil, which smells heavenly, is refreshing drizzled on greens. How about beverages? Oils add dimension to juices and fizzy waters, too. By mixing grapefruit, mandarin and lime in equal parts, seltzer water is transformed into a healthy citrus soda without the sugar found in commercial brands. As with all aromatic oils, though, don’t overdo it. Thankfully, a little bit of oil goes a long way.
Ever thought about those essential oils derived from the bouquet of cooking herbs you’ve planted in your garden? Oregano, ginger, thyme, marjoram, bay and basil are ideal for cooking. If you love basil (and most of us do!) add a few drops of oil to a simple pasta of red pepper, olives and red onion, and your taste buds will dance. Or maybe you’re a stir fry fanatic. Ginger oil, which is extremely powerful, adds kick to Asian food and is great for aiding digestion, too. Ever considered trying coffee with cardamom? A single drop of cardamom turns coffee into a feast for the senses. Try this blend iced on hot afternoons for a refreshing treat or even after meals. When cooking with these oils, though, remember that an excess of oil could potentially make your food inedible because they are so strong. Go easy, and consider tossing the oils in right at the end of cooking so they don’t evaporate prior to mealtime.
Essential oils also work in desserts. Two of the most well-loved dessert flavorings come as essential oils: vanilla bean and cacao. The aromatic oils, however, do not come laden with sugar, nor are they soaking in alcohol, the process used to create extracts. If you find yourself craving a sweet vanilla, try blending your essential oil with honey instead of sugar and see if your craving is curbed. The same can be said for cacao. This bitter, dark essential oil is not a candy bar, but it signals the brain the same way chocolate does. A decadent way of indulging your sweet tooth without jeopardizing your diet is to place two drops of cacao or vanilla into yogurt and eat like ice cream.
Summer food has a way of reminding us of life?s simple pleasures. From a basic family barbeque to a neighborhood feast, the fruits of the season enable us to take care of ourselves while taking care of the earth, too. Essential oils bring new dimension and ease to already simple fare, and often the addition of an oil adds nuance to a dish without the need for an extra trip to the grocery. So remember: if you find yourself the sudden hostess of an impromptu summer get-together and you?re down to soy milk, just toss water, ice and essential oil of lime in a glass and call it a spritzer. This is summer, after all!

The use of essential oils in aromatherapy has become a popular choice for many people seeking to relax and improve their health. Essential oils are used to aid in the healing of physical and psychological conditions. The essential oil is extracted from various parts of a plant and the aroma is used as treatment for a particular ailment. It is the only therapy that utilizes the sense of smell. Pure essential oils are all-natural and do not contain any manmade chemicals.
When used in aromatherapy, essentials are inhaled and enter the body through the nasal passages. Signals are directed to the brain and affect the emotions by affecting the limbic system, which also controls the major functions of the body. In massage, essential oils are mixed with an emulsifier and then massaged in the skin. Each essential oil has an individual chemical structure which determines its healing properties, fragrance, and color.
Essential oils can influence the body’s physiological systems. The following lists a number of benefits of using essential oils:
1) Certain oils can help alleviate pain. Peppermint has been proven to be a powerful pain killer.
2) Essential oils can have effects on emotions and mental states by promoting relaxation, relieving tension, and clearing the mind. Many scents promote calmness and tranquility while others lift the spirit. For instance, rosemary and peppermint are uplifting. Jasmine and ylang-ylang stimulate excitement, and lavender is sedating
3) Some oils such as citronella are used as a natural insect repellent.
4) Certain essential oils are known for their anti-fungal properties. Tea Tree Oil is shown to be excellent at killing bacteria, fungi, and some viruses.
5) Some oils are a power anti-inflammatory. Eucalyptus and Chamomile are two examples of oils with anti-inflammatory properties.
6) Essential oils can stimulate digestion. For instance, a few drops of peppermint consumed orally help the digestion process.
7) Because certain oils promote relaxation, they can help promote the lowering of blood pressure. Essential oils work much like tranquilizers but in a natural way.
8) Certain oils can alleviate respiratory systems. For example, inhaling mucolytic oils can relieve respiratory symptoms. As well, there are specific essential that can stimulate vaso-dilation. Some essential oils such as peppermint and lemon are added to humidifiers or vaporizers.
9) Some oils can help alleviate certain skin conditions. Calendula has helped many people with eczema and psoriasis.
10) Essential oils can treat minor skin and muscle conditions. Lavender is known to speed skin cell regeneration. Lemon, Eucalyptus, Rosemary, and Marjoram are often used to relax muscle tissue before engaging in exercise or a sporting event.
11) Diffusing essential oils into the air releases oxygenating molecules as well as negative ions which reduces bacteria and toxins in the air.
12) Certain oils can promote healthy skin. For instance, Juniper berry used in hand cream smoothes and softens dry and cracked skin.
13) Essential oils can improve brain function. Awareness of odors can have a significant affect on learning, thinking, and memory.
Different cultures have been using aromatherapy oils for hundreds of years. Using essential oils for a wide variety of conditions will result in a much stronger and healthier individual. Learning what oil and fragrance best suits your needs will help achieve optimum health results. Quality essential oils can be of great benefit to you, your family, and even your pets.

The importance of carrier oils in aromatherapy cannot be overlooked. The right carrier oil is almost as important as the right essential oil.
Carrier Base A carrier oil is the base into which you mix the essential oils. It dilutes the essential oils. It allows for the correct strength of the blend and prevents skin irritation. The use of the blend will also determine the carrier that you choose.
Pure and Natural A carrier oil is made with only pure, natural vegetable oils. Different vegetable oils have different qualities and uses. Elegant carrier oil blends are made from more than one vegetable oil .
Fatty Acids Quality vegetable oils are cold pressed. The liquid fatty acids are pressed from the fatty portions of the plant. Unlike essential oils, these oils will not evaporate. Oils that do not have a strong scent are preferred for aromatherapy.
What they Carry Natural vegetable oils are absorbed into the skin. The carry the essential oils into the skin gently preventing irritation. Essential oils also improve absorption. For this reason never use anything but pure plant base oils.
No Impurities Be careful of oils you would buy at the grocery store. They may not be cold pressed and may contain impurities or additives. Use only pure, cold pressed oils for full therapeutic benefit. You can get these at a health food store or from an aromatherapist.
Storing Your Oils All natural vegetable oils used as aromatherapy carrier oil have no preservatives. That means they can go rancid. Carrier oils are sold in small bottle and can be stored in the refrigerator. Keep them cool and tightly capped and they will last for nine months.
Oils and Properties Based on the purpose of the oil you are making, choose a carrier for tits properties and therapeutic benefits.
Sweet Almond This carrier oil is light and golden, with a very light nutty scent. It is soothing to the skin, relieving itching, inflammation and irritations. It nourishes and lubricates well and does not absorb too quickly. This makes it a good ingredient in massage oils.
Grapeseed This is probably the lightest and silkiest oil. It also has almost no scent, only a light pleasantness. It is used in aromatherapy for facials. The astringent properties tone, firm, and tighten the skin. This effect can be increased by certain essential oils giving you younger looking skin instantly. The one draw-back to this oil is that it is not cold pressed, but solvent extracted.
Avocado Avocado is a rich, nourishing, and emollient for dry and mature skin. The fatty acids and vitamins A and E rejuvenate tired skin.. The moistening properties plump up and hydrate skin cells. It is also healing and soothing. Use on chronic skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis.
Olive (Olea europaea) This common oil has uncommon healing properties. It is used to make super gentle soaps and is gentle and healing to tender or sensitive skin. It soothes and protects, and softens. It also relaxes and soothes sore, achy muscles, making it a must for serous therapists. It has a light green or yellow color, and aroma. This is also hearty oil. It can keep without refrigeration for up to one year.
Macadamia Nut (Macadamia intergrifolia ) This oil is a light, clear amber and has a slightly nutty odor, and a light texture. The oil contains palmitoleic acid which promotes soft supple skin.
Jojoba (Simmondsia chinensis) Jojoba oil is really a wax. It is polyunsaturated and liquid. In its qualities and consistency it is very similar to sebum - our natural skin oil. Being so compatible with our bodies, it is quickly absorbed, soothes inflammations and nurtures the skin, hair and nail. Being more wax than oil it can help control acne, and treat oily skin and scalp. Because it is an antioxidant, it will not go rancid. This quality also helps to prevent rancidity when blended with other oils.
Evening Primrose The essential fatty acid is known for its anti-inflammatory healing properties. It is a great oil for women, tending to female inflammations. The gamma-linoleic acid in this oil fight free radicals, inflammation and hormone imbalances which dry the skin.
Wheat Germ Oils This thick, aromatic, honey-colored oil is rich in vitamin E. It also contains high concentrations of B vitamins and vitamin A. This makes for an energy revitalizing, antioxidant cocktail. To the skin, it is a rich balm, healing scars, cracks and stretch marks alike. It gives skin, hair and nails a healthy, nourished glow. This oil is a strong antioxidant and as such enriches and repairs the skins. It also has some natural preservative effect. While it is not a chemical, it does provide some protection form oxidation. Use in other blends to extend the shelf-life.

Harsh elements in the environment and chemicals found in many of the products we use have caused our skin to sustain a substantial amount of damage. Looking after our skin naturally has become a popular choice for many consumers. Petroleum derivatives, chemicals, preservatives, scents, and colors can greatly diminish the health of our skin. One area that can be sensitive to both environmental elements and synthetic skin products is the region of skin around our eyes. The skin around the eyes is very delicate and thin, which makes it one of the first areas where skin damage is noticeable. Fortunately, there are organic eye care skin products that are gentle on the skin and improve skin health.
Herbal extracts, plant oils, and natural oils found in organic eye cream products offer a number of health benefits that include vitamins, antioxidants, minerals and essential fatty acids. These organic products do not contain harmful substances such as Parabens, ethyl alcohol, artificial fragrances, petrochemicals, phthalates, Sodium Lauryl Sulphate, synthetic chemicals, petroleum byproducts, and chemical additives. As well, they are not grown using synthetic pesticides, herbicides, and chemical fertilizers which are damaging to the skin and the environment. They are truly natural instead of a manufactured product.
Organic eye creams restore and repair damaged skin, improves skin firmness, improves circulation, provides much needed nourishment with its vitamins and minerals, and moisturizes and hydrates the skin thereby improving the skin’s elasticity. The result of using these natural eye creams is skin rejuvenation, reduced fine lines and puffiness around the eyes, as well as diminished dark circles around the eyes. Organic eye creams soothe sensitive skin and are much gentler that manufactured eye creams products.
There are many types of organic products that can be used around the eyes. An organic eye gel is a good choice for oily skin because of its hydrating properties. An eye cream provides more moisture to the skin so it is a good choice for people with dry skin. An organic eye balm provides protection against environmental elements such as the sun, cold, and wind. Because the skin around the eyes is prone to damage, it is recommended that one use a natural organic eye cream on a daily basis.
Natural skin products such as eye balms, skin firming gels, and eye creams repair and firm the skin while softening and smoothing the lines around the eyes. They aid in decreasing skin irritation and promote skin healing. There are many types of eye creams available such as night care products which are thicker so they can nourish and revitalize the eye area. There are daily use products which are thinner so they blend into the skin and protect it all day.
When searching for an eye cream for sensitive skin, it is important to read the ingredient label. Some products claim to be organic, but they are not. Look for USDA certified organic label. Also, organic eye care products will not irritate, sting, or burn the skin. It is always a good idea to compare products so you know you are getting the best quality.
Sensitive eye creams should have all-natural ingredients and should be marked for sensitive eyes. Sensitive organic anti-aging eye cream is a great choice. When you find the right eye cream skin care product that meets your personal skin needs, you will soon enjoy the benefits of having healthier and more beautiful skin.

Bath Salts and Essential Oils Aromatherapy essential oils in a bath salt, such as epsom or dead sea salt adds the healing benefits of the oils for a super relieving bath.
Double Benefit Both salt and essential oils are so healing. You want to choose which salt you use, just as you choose which oil for their different benefits. Choose oils for aches, pains, tension, relaxation or other ailments.
Potent Detoxifier Salts help the body to heal by removing toxins. By detoxifying the tissues the muscles relax, the skin heals and you feel calm and relaxed.
Less Pain Essential oils with bath salts help chronic and painful skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis. They also help relive main and stiffness of osteoarthritis. The results were resorted for 80% of study participants.
Following is a little information on specific salts.
Sea Salt Seas and oceans contain what is called sea salt. It is natural, organic, and is high in beneficial trace minerals and electrolytes such as magnesium. Magnesium is a natural muscle relaxer, and the salts pull toxins from the tissues to relieve pain, inflammation and stiffness.
Dendritic Salt Dendritic salt is a commonly used extender in commercial bath salts. This salt prevents caking and extends shelf life by holding scents longer. It is also fashionable because it dissolves easily. These are nice qualities, but they are synthetic and as such, they come at a price. It is just chemically modified table salt and not a safe choice for use with essential oils.
Dead Sea Salt Dead sea salt comes from the Dead Sea in Israel. It is unique in its mineral composition. Much more concentrated than sea salt. It is 33.7% salt - that is 8.6 times more than the ocean. It is so salty that it cannot support life. The mineral composition of dead sea salt is not only great than the ocean, but different. The ocean salt is 97% sodium chloride. Dead sea salt is very, very high in calcium, magnesium and potassium salts - the electrolytes. It is too concentrated to drink - a small amount is deadly. Used topically in a bath or scrub, the healing properties go to work to detoxify and rematerialize, balance, tone and heal. It is for this reason that people come from all over the world to bathe in the dead sea as a natural healing spa. The relief provided through detoxifying the tissues and relaxing the muscles makes this the premier healing salt.
Epsom Salt Epsom salt comes from salt water that has had the sodium chloride removed. This leaves a high concentration of magnesium, which is soothing to the muscles - a natural relaxant. It detoxifies by pulling lactic acid from the body. It is inexpensive and you can get it in most local pharmacy, supercenters and supermarkets.
Pickling Salt Pickling salt is appreciated for is fineness which allows it to dissolve instantly. Also for its clear color. It is just table salt, but with no additives to prevent caking to discolor it. It can be found at the grocer, but it has little value as a bath salt.
European Spa Salt This is a chic name for Mediterranean sea salt. This is the premier choice for your kitchen and dinner table. It is an organic sea salt with healthy minerals and electrolytes without the high sodium chloride, which is bad for the health. As a bath salt is does not have the nigh concentration of minerals of dead sea salt or the magnesium of Epsom salt.
Solar Salt Solar salt is taken from salt water ponds and is commonly used in aquariums. It Is a coarse grain and may contain additives or trace amounts of pesticides. The purity, without pesticides is important for your fish you’re your feet alike. Do not use anything with pesticides in aromatherapy. Many spa salts like to combine these salts with finer ground sea or Epsom salts for the look.
Hawaiian Red Salt Hawaiian Red Salt, or Alaea sea salt, is a natural, unprocessed salt sea salt. It is red because of volcanic red clay in the area. The volcanic red clay contains iron oxide. It is used for sore throats, cuts, scrapes, aches, muscle sprains, tissue infections and for cold sores. The clay draws out toxins and infections.
Icelandic Brine Salt Icelandic Brine Salt comes from deep subterranean brine pools. The pool gets over 300 degrees and is a mile under the earth. The trace mineral rich salts have deep healing powers. With 60% less sodium chloride than most salts, it has more trace minerals and is rich in silica - something unique to this salt. Silica is essential for bone, joints, hair, skin and nails, which is fortifies and makes super super-strong, smooth and silky. Use this great salt for severely damaged, irritated dry, or itchy skin.
Black Sea Pink Salt This salt from the Black Sea, which is rich in coral reefs, contains large amounts of beneficial halophilic bacteria. Aromatherapy candles provide fast and easy relief mental and emotional stress.
Pure Plant Materials
Aromatherapy candles must be made from pure, natural plant-based products. This is different from the common commercial candle.
From Nature
Plant-based vegetable waxes, soy or even beeswax may be used as the base for aromatherapy candles.
Transformative
Place a candle in a room to change the environment. It instantly removes tension and sets a peaceful tone. Don’t leave your mood to chance when you can choose the effect you want as easily as choosing a candle.
Mood Work
Candles provide a dual benefit. They glow releasing a warm light to mesmerize the soul and the warmth releases specific vapors that work their magic on us.
Essential Oils for Every Mood
Lavender is always relaxing. Rose, vanilla and sandalwood are peaceful and a bit romantic. Citrus scents are bright, happy and give you a little energy. Use pine, mint, or petitgrain for an energizing awakening effect.
Color and Mood
Colors to can be soothing or stimulating. Just make sure an aromatherapy candle, if it uses color at all, uses only pure, natural plant-based colors.
Conclusion
You don’t have to wait for the right time to use an aromatherapy candle. Use it anytime and in any room. Working, cooking, studying, it can make for a pleasant time.
